St. Thérèse Daffodil Tallow Balm 4 Ounce

1868 Tallow Balm is pure ranch luxury for the skin, lovingly hand-crafted at the Taylor Ranch in Cambria, California from just three ingredients: grass-fed beef tallow, organic jojoba oil, and organic plum kernel oil.

It wasn't meant to be, I promise. I created this balm, named for the “Little Flower of Lisieux,” for my grandmother Emilie whose life-inspiring saint was St. Therese of Lisieux. After losing one of her beloved sons at a young age, Emilie over decades planted hundreds of thousands of daffodils over the hills around her house to remember him and invited the community to enjoy them. 

The narcissus absolute I use is the costliest product I source and comes from Grasse, France - the heart of Europe's classical perfume-making traditions. It is so sublime my husband begs me to wear this tallow as a solid perfume, making it well worth the higher price tag. It smells of fresh spring daffodils, with an animalic quality subdued by honeysuckle undertones.

I will add that people either obsess over this scent or don't like it at all - so be forewarned.

A note on fragrances. Some skin is sensitive to perfumes and fragrances, particularly natural ones. If this is you, test on a small patch of skin before applying to your face. Our tallow with fragrance makes a wonderful moisterizer doubling as solid perfume  if you can't wear it on your face!
